About This Blend

TEALEAVES Tencha Matcha is a ceremonial grade, 100% stone-ground green tea. Hand-picked from the spring harvest, Tencha leaves are traditionally shaded for 20 days under a straw honzu and reed covering before being steamed and gently dried in a brick oven known as a tencha-ro.

The tea's vibrant green hue reflects both the freshness of the young leaves and its exceptional quality. This vibrancy also signifies heightened health benefits, including a rich concentration of antioxidants and key amino acids that promote relaxation and well-being. Naturally energizing yet balanced, Tencha Matcha embodies harmony.

On the palate, Tencha Matcha delivers a smooth, velvety mouthfeel with vegetal and slightly umami notes—hallmarks of the finest stone-milled matcha. Crafted in small batches using time-honored techniques, our Tencha Matcha pays respect to the tradition and craftsmanship of matcha and Japanese tea culture.
